Most people who are eligible for the program are waiting for the programto launch before doing anything, but it is smarter to be proactive. Listedbelow are three things we recommend begin doing while waiting for thecommencement of the Provisional Waiver program.

1. Order official copies of all your documents suchas birth certificates, divorce decrees, and passports now. Once the ProvisionalWaiver program begins the demand for document such as Mexican birthcertificates will increase and so will wait times for receiving thosedocuments.
2.  Find an attorney. The attorney can help youbegin the I-130 process. By hiring an attorney now, you are guaranteeing thatyou will have a reasonably priced attorney by the time the process begins anddemand for attorneys increase.
3.  File an I-130 petition. You will not be able tofile for the Provisional Waiver until you receive an I-130 petition approval,which can take up to six months after filing.
