Summary of the December 2012 VisaBulletin – Family-Based (FB)Below is a summary of the December 2012 Visa Bulletin withrespect to family-based petitions:
- F1 continues to move forward. F1 China and India all move forward by one (1) month to December 1, 2005. F1 Mexico moves forward by nine (9) days only to July 1, 1993 and F1 Philippines moves forward by three (3) months to October 8, 1997.
- F2A moves forward by five (5) weeks to August 22, 2010 to all chargeability areas including China, India, and Philippines. F2A Mexico moves forward by five (5) weeks to August 1, 2010.
- F2B Category for China and India all move forward by five (5) weeks to November 15, 2004. F2B Mexico moves forward by two (2) weeks to November 1, 1992 while F2B Philippines moves forward by five (5) weeks to March 22, 2002.
- F3 shows a slight forward movement for all chargeability areas including China and India which move forward by seven (7) days to June 08, 2002. A forward movement for chargeability areas including Mexico by fourteen (14) days and Philippines by ten (10) days.
- A movement for F4 for all areas of chargeability including China with a seventeen (17) day jump and India with a ten (10) day forward movement to April 01, 2001. F4 Mexico moves forward by fourteen days (14) to July 22, 1996 and F4 Philippines moves forward by twenty one (21) days to March 22, 1989.

Summary of the December 2012 VisaBulletin – Employment-Based (EB)Below is a summary of the December2012 Visa Bulletin with respect to employment-based petitions:
- EB1 remains current across the board.
- EB2 for all chargeability areas are all now current except for EB2 India which remains unchanged, again, at September 1, 2004. Good forward movement for China which jumps by seven (7) weeks to October 22, 2007.
- Good news for EB3 applicants as all areas of chargeability show forward movement. Mexico moves forward by one (1) month to November 22, 2006. Philippines moves forward by only one (1) week to August 15, 2006, China moves forward by ten (10) weeks to July 1, 2006, while India moves forward by only one (1) week to November 1, 2002.
- The “other worker” category moves forward by one (1) month for all chargeability areas including Mexico to December 22, 2006. Philippines moves forward by only one (1) week to August 15, 2006 while China remains unchanged at July 1, 2003. A forward movement of one (1) week for India to November 1, 2002.
- EB4 and EB5 categories remain current and available for all chargeability areas including China, India, Mexico, and Philippines.
- Certain Religious Workers preference is current for all areas of chargeability.
